NATtrol™* Extraction & Amplification Controls

NATtrol™ products are excellent standards for Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT), that control for all steps in NAT testing including centrifugation, extraction, amplification and detection.

NATtrol™ products are prepared from highly purified viruses that are isolated from either cell culture or from the plasma of infected individuals. The viral particles are treated chemically and enzymatically to alter their surface proteins while leaving their nucleic acid intact. The treated viral particles are unable to bind or penetrate host cells and we have demonstrated at least 5 logarithms of viral inactivation for each product.

DNA Amplification Controls

Purified DNA is suitable for use as an amplification control for Nucleic Acid Testing. Purity of cultures are verified prior to DNA extraction by Gram staining, microscopy and/or secondary culturing. Organisms are sold in 1µg or 10 µg sizes with concentrations generally >50 µg/mL. The Certificate of Analysis includes strain information and organism verification, DNA concentration and OD260/280 ratio.
