Due to the impact on immunosuppressed people, ZeptoMetrix carries several strains of the cytomegalovirus in multiple forms for testing, quality assurance, manufacturing, product development, and other applications.

Our broad line of viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, recombinant and bacteriophage samples all follow extensive quality control/quality assurance protocols to ensure the highest quality products for our partners and customers alike.

Echovirus Samples

Echo virus (or enteric cytopathic human orphan virus) is a non-enveloped enterovirus that contains a linear, positive-sense single-stranded RNA (similar to the Coxsackievirus) and is found in the gastrointestinal tract. Echovirus in humans can be asymptomatic, however, some symptoms include Croup, mouth sores, skin rashes, and sore throat.

Zeptometrix carries several varieties of Echovirus for laboratories, hospitals, and research facilities. Echovirus is a Biosafety Level 2 organism and should be handled using universal precautions even with lysate samples (such as the Echovirus Type 6 Lysate) which have been treated to render the virus inactivated.

Echovirus samples, both cultural fluid and lysate should not be used in humans. Samples that Zeptometrix offers are intended for testing, research, product development, and manufacturing use.

Enterovirus Samples

Enterovirus Type 68 and 71 are two forms of enteroviruses, which is a group of single strand RNA viruses which also includes coxsackievirus and echovirus. Enterovirus Type 68 causes respiratory illness that ranges from asymptomatic to debilitating respiratory illness. Some researchers have implicated Enterovirus Type 68 in isolated cases of acute flaccid myelitis.

Due to the recent upswing in the number of occurrences of Enterovirus Type 68 in recent years, Zeptometrix offers a variety of Enterovirus culture fluid samples for nucleic acid / molecular testing, limit of detection studies, cross-reactivity studies, and other viral based assays.

All Enterovirus samples are Biosafety Level 2 organisms and should be handled with universal precautions as they are live and infectious.

Hepatitis A Virus (HAV)

Hepatitis A (HAV) is a contagious liver disease that is contracted typically from contaminated food or water, or close content with individuals who have contracted Hepatitis A. Hepatitis A is a member of the  order Picornavirales and presents symptoms in roughly half of adults who contract Hepatitis A. It is estimated that in less developed countries without access to uncontaminated water, upwards of 90% of the population may be impacted.
