Description
Used for studies aimed at the mechanism of IL-2/T-cell interaction, regulation of T-cell growth cycle progression, receptor characterization, and for in vitro laboratory studies of T-cell malignancies such as Adult T-cell Leukemia (ATL).
Recombinant Human Interleukin-2 (rhIL-2), previously referred to as T-Cell Growth Factor, is an important biological protein that mediates the process of clonal expansion and maintenance of T-cell proliferation. The rhIL-2 originates from the IL-2 gene found in human Jurkat cell line which was cloned into E. coli. This product differs from native IL-2 in two ways—it is not glycosylated and the protein differs at two amino acid positions (the first three N-terminal amino acids are absent, and CYS at position 125 is substituted by SER).
