Use the OXITEK™ Total Glutathione Peroxidase Assay Kit to measure the activity of total glutathione peroxidase (GPx, EC# Glutathione peroxidase is an enzyme found in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions of cells. GPx helps protect organisms from oxidative damage by catalyzing the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and hydroperoxides formed from fatty acids, thereby effectively removing toxic peroxides from living cells. A reduction in enzyme level is associated with diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (1) and chronic glomerulonephritis(2).

What's included: 120 mL bottle of GPx assay buffer, 45 mg bottle of GPx reagent 1 (contains reduced glutathione), 5 mg bottle of glutathione reagent 2 (contains NADPH), 10 mL bottle of GPx reagent 3 (contains cumene hydroperoxide, sodium bicarbonate), 1 mL vial of GPx reagent 4 (contains potassium phosphate and glutathione reductase), and 0.5 mL vial of QC material. Supplier Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is included with product shipment.
