West Nile Virus (WNV) (Strain: NY 2001-6263) is an enveloped icosahedral Flavivirus that contains positive-sense, single-stranded, linear RNA.

This West Nile virus was collected from a human cerebrospinal fluid specimen in September of 2001 from Nassau County, NY*; NCBI GenBank Accession No. AF533540.

Each frozen aliquot contains 1 mL of heat inactivated viral culture fluid. The pre-inactivation titer was determined from an infectious aliquot.

Viral inactivation is verified after heat inactivation by the absence of viral growth in tissue culture-based infectivity assays.
