ZeptoMetrix polyclonal antibodies are derived from animals immunized with a virus or a viral derivative (such as a viral lysate). The antisera obtained from the animal is then chromatographically processed to isolate the antibodies.

Polyclonal antibodies offer advantages over monoclonal antibodies by providing higher overall affinity against the target antigen, due to their combined ability to recognize multiple epitopes on the antigen.
